Let me say it plainly: if you're not eating enough food, skipping meals, yo-yoing from keto to carb-cycling to intermittent fasting… you are not optimizing anything. You're just confusing yourself, and bullying your biology.

So, take your boot off the neck of Mother Nature.

I've been coaching people for over 20 years, and 9 times out of 10, the average person doesn’t need the latest trend. They need basics. They need fuel. They need consistency. And they need to stop trying to biohack a body they haven’t even nourished properly yet.

Let’s back up.

If you're NOT already at a healthy weight…
If you're NOT building or maintaining muscle…
If you're NOT eating enough to support your basic energy demands…

…then keto, carnivore, carb-cycling, intermittent fasting — none of these are the solution. They’re just noise. You don’t fine-tune a race car that hasn’t even been fueled yet.

We need a baseline first.

And guess what? Mother Nature already gave us one.
It’s called Mother’s Milk.
(No, I’m not telling you to drink breast milk — calm down.)
But look at its macro breakdown: almost perfectly isocaloric.
Roughly ⅓ protein, ⅓ carbohydrate, ⅓ fat.

That’s what grew you from a helpless little lump into a functioning human.
And for most adults today, returning to a balanced, isocaloric macro plan is a powerful, sustainable move. No extremes. Just enough of everything to thrive.

When we put people on an isocaloric split — say 150g protein, 150g carbs, 50-60g fat for starters — most of them don’t just improve… they flourish.
They build lean mass.
They sleep better.
Their energy stabilizes.
Their cravings drop.
And their metabolism finally gets the green light it’s been begging for.

Only after you've hit that baseline and truly plateaued do we earn the right to get creative. That’s when timed carbs, fasting windows, or targeted fat manipulation can make sense. But not until.

So unless you're truly stuck in that advanced stage — you can stop reading now.

For the rest of you yeehaws out there still fighting your body with trends and chaos, let me make it simple:
Fuel first.
Balance your macros.
Give your body what it actually needs.

Then — and only then — will you be ready for the next level.
